I’ve created a course to demystify content. Content Simplified is designed to help businesses improve their digital performance because good content is vital to getting business through the door.

Algorithms are increasingly seeking out authentic and original content to put in front of people searching for services and products (like yours). But there’s so much misleading ‘guidance’ about content that I felt it was time to channel my experience and knowledge into a course to demystify content. Hence Content Simplified :to give you the basic steps for communicating with a purpose.

Content is a simple enough concept but it needs a purpose. Basically, it’s what you communicate to your target audience to get them to take the right action: keep buying from you, praise and recommend you, etc, etc.

However, from my experience as content and SEO specialist, I know that many businesses aren’t creating their best content. And, until you know what kind of content you need and how to create it confidently and efficiently, you won’t experience the true value that it can bring to your business.

Content Simplified to the rescue.

Three powerful concepts that demystify content

Content Simplified introduces you to three powerful concepts that demystify content:

  1. Taking charge of your content.
  2. Committing to creating good content.
  3. Making content creation part of your business processes.

1. Taking charge of your content

Businesses are good at taking charge of their communication but not their content. Lots of thought goes into setting up social media accounts and getting websites built. But then, what do you post and write about? Better to plan it the other way round: what to say first, then how to say it.

Whoever is going to post on social media or write the copy for your website needs a brief: “What do you want us to write about?” “Who are we talking to?”. Bearing in mind you should be producing fresh content regularly, these questions aren’t going to go away. So, take charge of your content. Or it will develop a life of its own (with help from misinformed humans and AI).

2. Committing to creating good content

If your business is doing well, it’s tempting to pay less attention to actively promoting it. After all, word of mouth and referrals are clearly working hard for you. That’s as it should be but, what exactly are these lovely people saying about your business? Is it really the right thing to help you attract the right customers? Of course, no one in their right mind is going to turn business away but it does need to be profitable. Your (relevant) content should be helping you develop your business in the right direction. Even an existing customer sharing their version of what you do may not be ideal…

 3. Making content creation part of your business processes

The third concept of Content Simplified is to help you integrate content creation into your business processes. This will keep it relevant and make it less of a burden. We all know how stressful and frustrating it can be to keep running out of ideas, cobbling copy together from other websites, trying to say something different…

It’s also fruitless – you’re unlikely to see the value of communicating such content. So, naturally, you stop communicating to save money and energy. But then, when you need more business, you realise you need to start communicating again… And so on it goes.

Alternatively, treat your content with the same respect as your core business. Then your communication will reflect what you do accurately and consistently. Content is as simple as that.

Your SEO deserves the very best content

You’ve got a brilliant business with great plans for the future so your business deserves the very best content. Ranking for the right keywords, as part of content that Google recognises as valuable, is the single most important objective for your communication activity. Without good content, however, there’s only so much your SEO can do to get you ranking.

Content Simplified is all about planning your SEO-led content and sharing it on your chosen platforms to attract your target audience. Then, you work from the same content at networking events, in podcasts, at conferences, in email campaigns, etc. In other words, every time you communicate you’ll come across as consistent, authentic and relevant.

Rather than ‘marketing your content’, Content Simplified will train you to market your business using your content. Basically, we help you create the content that empowers your salesforce, especially if that’s just you.

Good content starts with Content Simplified

Create content that continues to sell your business effectively otherwise you may never get to grips with SEO.

Whether you’re a start-up or established business, sole trader or a workforce of 10+,  give your content the attention it needs: take charge of it, then learn how to do it properly. Get good at it. Make it second nature. That’s what Content Simplified will do for you: demystify content, teaching you to find it and use it as efficiently as possible.

(It’ll also make up for the time you’ve likely spent studying all the misleading and vacuous theories out there.)
