London-based PROMS-MC is a project risk management consultancy advising and managing projects for large infrastructure organisations such as rail and utilities.
My work for PROMS-MC spanned brand identity, website structure, content strategy, copywriting and LinkedIn strategy. They wanted an online presence to support the credibility and reputation that this small consultancy was quickly gaining in the face of some very big-hitting competitors.
“Punching above our weight” was how directors Brian Roberts and Robert Balaam put it. They wanted their corporate identity to move on – as in match the standard and level of work they undertook while retaining elements of the original. The new logo reflects their data-driven skills and uses a more sophisticated version of their favourite colour blue. I also introduced a strapline – ‘End to end risk management’ – to imply their straightforward approach and capabilities.
The strategy for content – across all their communication activity – concentrated on 3 areas: the consultancy’s breadth and depth of experience; the directors’ combination of (unique and significant) skills and their demonstrably logical approach to project risk management. Following my brief, the designer sourced the images from a stock libraries. They’re infrastructure related but also refer to risk as ever present, to be understood and managed. Which is exactly what PROMS-MC does.
Website Structure and Copy
The structure is straighforward, allowing visitors to skate over topics and delve deeper as required. The website is an off-the-shelf platform which I put together, using pre-designed template pages.
The copy is detailed and wordy – typical of the industry but, more importantly, demonstrating transparency and openness to a very cautious. It unashamedly identifies issues and challenges faced by the audience and focuses on PROMS-MC having the tools to fix problems efficiently and effectively.
“Susanna has worked with us at PROMS-MC to help develop effective communications via a variety of media, including a new website, client presentations, press releases and published articles. This has been achieved through working together strategically to improve content and key messages. Susanna has worked closely with us to ensure that content and communication to prospective clients is clear and unambiguous, and which can be easily understood when dealing with very complex issues. Susanna is a great communicator, has highly developed interpersonal skills, and carries out her work with the highest level of integrity and honesty. We at PROMS-MC continue to employ Susanna and will do so for the foreseeable future.” Brian Roberts, co-director
